At what age is recommended for Geomag Pro?

Does the toy stores in the European Union may sell Geomag Pro?

Hello Bart.

1) Due to incidents with ingested magnetic toys in the past, in April 2009 the European Union and the United States made addendums to their toy safety regulations (EN 71-1 & ASTM F963-08 respectively) to address toys containing magnets. The regulations dictate size, magnetic strength and minimum physical force needed to remove a magnetic part from a toy. Due to the size and strength of the Geomag Pro bars they can no longer be classified as a toy and thus per the definition of a "toy" are not recommended for children under 14 years of age as you mention yourself. In comparison, the Geomag KIDS and Geomag Baby products are within size definitions and thus classify as toys. (Geomag KIDS being recommended from 3 years due to the presence of the spheres which are not magnetic but still count as "small parts")

2) Stores can sell Geomag Pro if they wish, based on the availability from their local Geomag distributor. Some toy stores carry both the Pro and KIDS lines, some have policies that refuse to carry products that don't classify as toys. An important thing to be aware of: All stock that stores have of Geomag 'Classic', ie. the normal Geomag bars in the classic boxes that don't say 'pro', can be freely sold until out of stock.

I hope this answers your questions.
Regards,
