Fantastic - the new line has a different look because its so huge.

How big is that model? I guess its not possible to move it.

What are those new panels made of? not Makrolite?

If it wasn't for the damn recession I'd buy some.

The model is 67 centimeters high and has a radius of 43 centimeters.

It can be moved by transporting the base, but carefully so it's not tipped over. It's not so handy to embrace and lift up but it's known to be done.

If you look carefully at the glass display unit, you see that the sliding 'door' only makes an opening half the size of the unit. The model had to be built inside the display in order to fit.

The opaque KIDS panels are made of ABS, and the transparent ones are made of PC (Polycarbonate).

I don't have any Geomag Kids yet, so can anyone tell me the length of the Kids bars? When I first saw it I was hoping for them to be the length so that combined with regular Geomag they'd make triangles with a 90-degree angle in them similar to what Supermag used to do. But they look too long for that. I'm just wondering if there are any interesting synergies between the two different lengths. Has anyone experimented with this yet?

Wim, nice to see you again: old Geomagsters never die!

Two and a quarter inches: designed, I believe, to be pretty tough for
even the most determined child to swallow.

I started a thread over on the Math forum to discuss the new possibilities
this opens up, but without changing the sphere size, Geomag has a pretty
severe "steric limit" which makes even bracing a square impossible.

There's just not enough space around the standard sphere for more than 14 rods.
I sometimes work with 5/8" spheres for this reason, and I'm happy to report that
the new rods make this a delight, because they have the same powerful magnets,
linked with steel core, so the magnetic flux can flow.
