It's almost alive. I feel like I could see it move like a sea creature.
Look at the slight curvature of the back ridge which gives the impression of movement.

Another new shape, at least as far as I know.

But as a 'building block' I doubt we can do much with it, just as the Oloid shape doesn't play well with others regarding geometic connections, I doubt this one will. And used as a truss, knowing how unstable the twisted helix shape is, I assume this one won't fare better. But maybe the middle-lenght version can hold its' own a bit.

I am of course being negative in all my assessions, so that you can go and prove me wrong.

I didn't have any Yoda-style indirect way of having you arrive at a certain shape with these hints about doubling and prolonging the Oloids, this is how far I explored it. I did some starfish-shaped pavillion shapes by joining up 3 double-size Oloids, but beyond that I didn't have much success.

My initial hope when I experimented with the Oloid was to use it or one of the derivatives to arrive at a modular Dodecahedron or Icosahedron, but as far as my discoveries, the Oloid is best as a standalone solid shape. Please someone prove me wrong

Let's continue our ramblings with the Oloids:

Take 3 angular oloids and put them together:

It is rigid, no problem to handle it.
It is as strong as the extra long oloid can be. In fact the bipyramids are pretty much squeezed so the connections at the very end are not perfect (maybe with bigger spheres) because of the closed angle (3rd photo foreground red end right side). But still it feels rigid and strong in the hands.

Could this be a base module for something bigger???

That makes 4 "space ships" that I know of, that can be held and flown around.
Two 'evil' ones and 2 'good/neutral' ones.
I will have to build them all to show together, also learning how to build this new Cylon.
