Very, very very nice! My compliments.
I assume the small one was discovered first, and it inspired you to see if it could be done larger.
How did you discover the small one, just by coincidence when playing around? Or was it a deliberate goal to try and achieve a swirl?

Peter, thank you for the compliment. The smaller swirl was by design. When I was a child I had a toy called Spirograph. It allowed you to draw shapes and patterns similar to the swirl. I set out to create with Geomags the patterns I used to draw with the Spirograph. As you said, the success of the smaller one led to the larger one. The glow in the dark was an after thought on the model because I thought the crossing rods would look nice lit up. Only after I photographed the glow model and enlarged the photo did I notice the reflection of the glow rods in the center sphere.

Tychi, thank you for your compliment as well. I also have many of those glow rods that don't glow well anymore. I will only buy unopened boxes of glow rods. Needless to say the opportunity rarely arises.

Thanks geomagmasters for this great idea :-)

Here is my first modest attempt shot with my phone 6 months ago in the bathroom, structure in one hand and phone in the other :o Epic!
I'll do better when I have time ;-)
I noticed the reflection on the central point in the dartk. But my photos are too crappy to zoom in :-(

I posted a howto in the instructions forum for building the simple version of the swirl.
