Hi Guys!
I wasn't going to post till i had pictures, but i couldn't resist...
Once upon a time, i used to build things up like you guys, and if i remember correctly, i did something similar to this... i'll look in my old stuff chest to see if i have some remainigs of it...
By the way, it's a plasure to see you all again!!

I could not resist to try another variation of this structure. In my first attempt I had used truncated spheres and I was not completely satisfied with the result. So I tried again, this time with perfect 'spheres'. I also spent quite some time swapping rods and panels to get a (quite) symmetric color scheme. Obviously I still need more metallic rods and clear panels
The 'buckyballs' do add very little in terms of structural support and much in terms of weight. I was afraid the thing might collapse but after finishing it I could even rotate it to find the best angle for taking pictures. The final result is more pleasing now but I very nearly ran out of diamond panels - never thought that this would happen in a project. They tend to stay unused most of the time.
